The Science Behind the Smoothness
Unlike iced coffee which involves hot coffee poured over ice, cold brew is an entirely different brewing philosophy that creates a uniquely superior taste experience.
The process involves slowly steeping coffee grounds in cool water for 12 hours, gently extracting flavours from the bean without any heat. This patient method results in significantly less acidity, richer flavours, and a remarkably smooth taste that’s impossible to achieve through conventional brewing methods.
Made from 100% Colombian Fair Trade coffee, Bewley’s cold brew is completely free from additives, delivering pure coffee perfection in every sip.
Sheila Dowling, Bewley’s Commercial Director
“Very few places are doing cold brew right in Ireland, certainly not at this scale. We want to encourage consumers to take their first sip of our cold brew, which we predict will become a new year-round staple for coffee lovers.”
Sheila also highlighted additional benefits of cold brew stating that enjoyment of the coffee is not dependent on the skill of the barista as would be the case in the preparation of iced coffee.
“This cold brew is single origin, balanced and has already been formulated to the perfect way of serving, so that it only needs to be served to the correct measure.”

Bewley’s will offer a first taste of its new cold brew at a price of just 60c a cup in its Grafton Street venue on May 28, from 2pm-5pm.
